For whatever reason, even though I got to bed late last night, I woke up earlier than usual. I decided to take advantage of the “extra” time and get in a morning run for the first time in a while. It was pleasantly cool and the sun wasn’t too high in the sky yet.
I ran the little town/village/hamlet – whatever it’s called of Hollansburg, Ohio. Yep, Hollansburg is small enough to run in about 3 total road miles. It was kind of interesting running through the cemetery and seeing clumps of the same name. I’m guessing a few of the families have been settled there a long time. Chenoweth is a name I saw often and there’s a Chenoweth Road to the north of town a bit. I recognize the name from Matt Light’s “Chenoweth Trails”, which I need to pay a visit to soon. It looks like some pretty woods in there.
Anyway, now I’m curious about the Chenoweth name and what role the family has played in the history of the Hollansburg, Ohio area. Not much going on in this little town, but the early risers that I passed on their porches were all friendly enough!
