Tonight was a nice slow seven mile run with a lot of gentle elevation changes. I started about an hour before sunset and the sun was just dipping below the horizon as I finished. It was clear and beautiful, with a nearly full moon brightly visible in the eastern sky before the sun went down.
Not much wildlife tonight, but it did occur to me that this area has a VERY high concentration of turkey “farms”. I can’t stand the smell of those things and all the dust that comes billowing out of them. I really can’t comprehend how people live right next to them. I sometimes wonder what it would be like if all those turkeys managed to escape! I tried, but I never did figure out where Bucks Corner actually is.
I tried to take a few photos tonight of some interesting things, but I’m not really happy with how they turned out. There was a long ditch full of “Ditch Lilies” that looked pretty, but the picture was awful. Oh well… I did get a picture of these farmers rolling up some hay or straw or whatever they call it…

I can’t believe you maintain your sanity zigzagging city blocks. You should try running 4 or 5 miles out and then back. I get a sense of appreciation for the ground I can cover that way. It’s a pretty crazy goal you have to cover all the streets. You should look into maybe the Indiana trail 100 instead. You would be surrounded by people with common interests. Seven miles isn’t to bad zig zagging around but what happens when you try to run 20miles, that’s like running around a track

Thankfully, a very small portion of the county is city. I try to limit my runs in town to about 3-4 miles at a time – you’re right, that just isn’t very fun. However, the huge majority of my runs are in the country, and I either do one big loop or a point-to-point by getting dropped somewhere or stashing my bike somewhere to get me back to the start,
I do some out and backs when I’m not able to cover new territory for a given run, but I don’t really even like seeing the same road twice on those.
Thanks for pointing out the http://www.indianatrail100.com/ – I hadn’t heard of that. I’m pretty settled on my plan for now, but I’m always interested in other places I can add as time goes on!
